Rudy was born in 1964 on Chelyabinsk, a city on the Ural mountains, central Russia. Graduated engineer/metallurgist, Polytechnic university. After graduation he had directed, for a while, a team of locksmiths at a local foundry. He got interested in making edged weapons, so he became an apprentice to a trained blacksmith in Zlatoust (the most famous arms & armor making center in Russia). In 1993 he had immigrated to Israel and worked as a blacksmith ever since, making edged weapons exclusively. Rudy had presented at a seminary of Japanese influence artists at the Tikotin Museum of Japanese art (2002) and made some replicas for the Israeli National Maritime Museum.
